Teaching Aims:

1. Of knowledge:

  To enable students to have a good knowledge about cybercrime and measures to fight against it.

  To help students accumulate some words and expressions about cybercrime.

2. Of ability: To consolidate students’ ability to grasp the structure and main idea through some writing techniques.

3. Of emotion: To raise students’ awareness of protecting themselves from cybercrime.

1. The analysis of the structure and the summary of main idea.

2. The grasp and application of writing techniques.

Teaching procedures:

Step1 Lead in

Present some pictures and the fact that the teacher’s QQ number was stolen to arouse students’ interest and to lead to the topic of cybercrime.

Step2 Analyze the structure and main idea  

1. Students are encouraged to focus on the first and last paragraph based on the speech and grasp the main idea of this speech.

2. Students are encouraged to use some keys words to summarize the main idea of the other paragraphs.

Step3. Instruct some writing techniques.

1) A hook : A phenomenon is used to lead to the topic.

2) Powerful conclusion: A famous saying is quoted to conclude the speech.

3) Links between paragraphs

4) Elements of a paragraph

5) Specific statistics

6) Persuasive examples

Step4 Accumulate and discuss

1. Finish a summary of the passage and accumulate some words and expressions about cybercrime meanwhile.

  How can we students do our part to fight against cybercrime?
